Lauren Granahan
Operations Director
From the platform to the pen to the process and project plan, Lauren’s career evolution can be seen as tracing the life cycle of a custom training product back to its inception. With a background in English and education and a personal penchant for organization and efficiency, it might not be such a surprise that the journey of her career has taken this course. Platform: Lauren graduated from Skidmore College with a major in English and a strong concentration in education. She then lived and taught at a teaching university in rural China. After returning to the United States, she worked as a trainer for Virgin Atlantic Airways (VAA) delivering global workshops spanning topics from customer service to airport operations to disaster response. Pen: After about a year of facilitation, Lauren transitioned into an instructional design role at VAA for four years before moving onto Performance Impact (PI) where she was hired as a Senior Instructional Designer. At PI, she delved more into management and leadership development topics and focused on creating interactive, blended learning solutions for pharmaceutical and biotech customers. Process and Project Plan: Because of her interest in process improvement, Lauren spent a lot of her off-time at PI partnering with its owners to streamline internal processes to increase efficiency and organization. In 2008, Lauren was promoted to Manager of Operations where she currently manages an extremely competent group of training and development design professionals and assists them in delivering the highest quality products for PI’s customers each day.
